I have one potential contract deal that I need to call and ask about, another company emailed me about contract jobs, I just got back from a job interview, and on my way to the interview I had ANOTHER place call me and did a phone interview.

The place I went to interview, wants me as a salesperson/sales engineer. They understand I want to do systems engineering work, but that I don’t want to be on the phones. They only have 12 employees and they cant garuntee me that if i come into sales that I will be moved to IT anytime soon. The other place that called is hardcore IT stuff, they want me to know cisco, and php, and perl and linux and solaris. This made my mouth water.

Heres the question: Do I take the job I dont like and be employed right away, or do I hold out for the IT job and potentially make more money and be happy at work?

*whimper*

Oh. some other funny facts - after the interview i stopped at einstein bagles on the corner of aero and that damn road frys is on.. I used to go there nearly every day when i worked at ixpres.. The song they had playing was ‘jump’ by kriss kross. I nearly burst out laughing.. and then as i was sitting there eating my blueberry bagel with creamcheese and lox, that ‘boombastic’ song came on.. and I wondered if I had stepped back 10 years when I walked into the place.
